There's no telling how much I am in love with canvas. I always wanted to decorate my house with something creative or something of my own. Then I started exploring and searching google. There only I got a chance to visit Pinterest. My reaction was Wow!! 😍😍 so many ideas, so much to do. Earlier also I made few photo frames but this time I wanted something different. I loved the canvas idea. Luckily, I saw an ad in my newspaper about a sale in Micheal's and next day only I went there and got a 8 pack of 8 x 11 canvas and a mod podge. Rest all I got from Walmart.
I had a brother inkjet printer so I printed my pictures from there. I read few blogs for not using inkjet print for canvas but I wanted to give a try. Well, I am impressed by results. They look awesome on my wall :-):).
Supplies:
Canvas, photo print (8 x11),mod podge, foam brush, black paint and paint brush.
Steps:
1. Paint edges of canvas black and let it dry.
2. Apply a layer of mod podge on canvas. I did it vertically.
3. Place your picture on mod podged canvas with front up. Use hands to paste it to canvas, even the surface and remove bubbles. This step (removing bubbles) is important else picture will appear uneven or bumpy. Let it adhere and dry.
4. Now if your picture is bigger that canvas either cut it or if its just bit small, paste to edges
5. Next, apply large vertical strokes of mod podge on front of picture evenly. Picture will appear cloudy but when its gets dry, it looks awesome.
6. If you had earlier folded your picture edges, you can apply another coat of black paint on edges.
Note: There's one more step that i like to do which i read somewhere. This is to sandwich a blank canvas on wet mod podged picture after step 5. Just gently press blank canvas on wet mod podged canvas and remove it. Let it dry.
Just waiting for day when I will have my own home so I can make bigger ones. 😊
